Scouting isn’t all about going dib, dib, dib, wearing shorts and bob-a-job week….
It isn’t about wearing mountie hats or berets….
So what is scouting all about?
|
|
Scouting is still about traditional activities like camping and hiking but we’ve added lots of other activities like cycling, climbing (walls and “the real thing”), Archery, shooting and canoeing.
And we don’t ignore the newer activities like power-bocking (springy stilts) |

There is also the opportunity to mix with young people from other parts of the world by attending a camp overseas or attending an international camp (Jamboree) that is being held in the UK.
For 2009, an international Jamboree is being held in Kent. |

Our Scouts are not just restricted to events in Sittingbourne. There is a full event calendar organised by Kent Scouts which for 2009 includes Hill Walking, a Survival Badge Weekend, ROAR! For cubs at Howletts Wild Animal Park, Jet Skiing, Alpine Adventure at Capstone Ski Centre, White Water Canoeing, Kayaking and Wind Surfing to name but a few. |
